I want you to do yourself and somebody else a favor before you fire up that monster barbecue today. Send a care package to our soldiers serving us overseas.
My wife organized such a campaign at the school she works at. Turns out our mail carrier has a son serving overseas so she sent him a few things and had the kids write some letters. Here’s the e-mail response she got from our soldier in Afghanistan (not depicted above):
Hello Mrs. Frankle, my name is Sean Y. I received the care packages today that were sent from W. Elementary. I am going to send another e mail to the students in just a moment with some pictures of me and of my squad. Thank you so much we appreciate all of the support that we received from the school and you.
I love serving my country especially when I see that it is appreciated. Thank you once again.
If you’d like to celebrate Memorial Day for the Living Heroes, you can either Google “send a care package to our troops” or you can check out this link.
Do this together with your family – especially your kids. You’ll be a hero too. If you want extra credit, bake some brownies and drop them off at the nearest fire station. They deserve a little love too.

What a important reminder on this Memorial Day. Mrs. Frankle’s efforts remind us all what and whom we need to be remembering!
