Money Stress No More

Believe it or not, my new motto is “Money Stress No More!” That’s right. Even though 2008 was a very challenging year, I’m not stressed. Let me share some financial stress tips with you.

The best tip is to be grateful. I am very grateful for 2008.

Of course I’m not thrilled about everything that happened over the last 12 months.  In fact, most people I know (including myself) have been hurt directly and significantly by the financial crises.  But I couldn’t and still can’t control that.  My guess is, neither can you.  It makes no sense for anyone to be upset about things they can’t control, but I know many of us still are.

That’s why I think it’s very important to create a “gratitude list.”  I don’t think there has ever been a better time to go through this exercise.

Because 2008 was so difficult financially, I’ve had a lot more clarity about what I want to do in 2009, how I want to spend my time and who I want to be with.  I don’t think I would have had that clarity were it not for this tumultuous year.

What about you?  How have you benefited by what has gone on over the last 12 months?  I’m very interested in what you have to share.  How do you deal with financial stress?
