If you want to know how to advance in your career, just think back to your grade school days. Remember when you had to stand in front of that grocery store and sell candy bars or school calendars? It wasn’t one of my best jobs. Did you dislike it as much as I did? Did you promise yourself you’d never ever sell anything ever again? Did that experience help shape the internal conversation of “which job is right for me?”
Lots of people dislike the idea of having a sales job. Even fewer people think of themselves as salespeople. The reality is, however, we are all in sales. And you can use that shift in thinking to move forward in your career — no matter what you do.
