Here's a link to my blog entry from Tuesday, entitled "Buy-and-Hold Investing Doesn't Work -- These Links Prove It!":

http://arichlife.passionsaving.com/2009/11/17/buy-and-hold-investing-doesnt-work-these-links-prove-it/

The academic research has shown for 28 years that the odds of Buy-and-Hold working out for the long-term investor are precisely zero. But not too many of the "experts" in The Stock-Selling Industry have seen fit to share this important news with middle-class investors. The 20 links show that that is beginning to change in the wake of last year's stock crash.

My favorite of the quotes is the one by Rob Arnott (who is the former editor of the Financial Analysts Journal). Arnott describes the conventional investing wisdom of the past 30 years as the product of "myth and urban legend." That's my take as well.

I wrote a post this week about phone insurance and my investigation of whether it's worth it. I like this post because it has practical application and hopefully everyone will be able to learn something from it and apply that knowledge in other situations as well.

Though this is obviously a little self-serving, I started a new blog last month dedicated to credit card education. LearnCreditCards.com. It's got about 30 articles on it so far, and will continue to have 5 new full-length articles per week indefinitely. :)
