If you have today&#039;s L.A.Times, check out the Business Section regarding CalPers.  Looks like a change is going to take place because of the big loss, due to the investments, and the state may need to help them out. I&#039;m hoping they don&#039;t reduce our monthly pension payment. Some big changes are going to occur for the future retirees.

Hard to say how this will impact your payments but I wouldn&#039;t worry too much.  The losses have already been incurred so my thinking is, if CalPers was going to have a problem making payments you&#039;d know it by now.

		<description>My husband retired from the state of California long ago (as you know). We receive a monthly check from his pension plan. CalPers is now suing the companies that rate the various companies that CalPers invest our money in because these companies were given AAA ratings, which CalPers says is bogus.  This has me a little worried, as we depend on this money to survive.  Will the outcome affect us? I guess we take that which is constant for granted &amp; hope that we can survive another day.</description>
