Interview With World’s Top Avon Rep Reveals Business Success Secrets
By admin on Jun 26, 2009 in Small Business Ideas
Imagine if you could sit down with one of the world’s top sales reps for 60 minutes.
How would you benefit? What would that mean to you and your family? Now imagine you can do that for free anytime you want.
No…you’re not dreaming. You can do that right now by listening to my interview with Lisa Wilber. In case you don’t know Lisa, she’s an amazing woman.
At 18 years old she had no money, no skills and no education. But she had something far more valuable. She had a dream and she believed in herself.
Lisa worked her tuschie off and now she continues to be among the top 4 sales people in the world for Avon. This is no small feat considering she is competing with over 4 million people!
Here are a few of the gems Lisa shared with us:
1. The worst day of her life may have been the best day of her life. It was the day she fell asleep at her job at the 7-11 and woke up with a gun pointed at her. That was the day she realized she needed to invent a new life.
The take-away is that it’s never to late to reinvent your life. Another important take-away is that it’s up to us to determine the boundaries of what our life ultimately looks like. That’s pretty powerful.
2. Her husband at the time told her she could be successful at Avon and just because she didn’t know anyone who was successful in that line of work didn’t mean she couldn’t be the first.
Lots of wisdom here. First, never underestimate yourself- never. Second, never underestimate the power of a good word to someone else. You never know. You might be the one who “creates” the next Zig Ziglar – or Lisa Wilber.
3. Lisa reported that just having her own business was esteeming – even when it wasn’t all that successful. As a result, she was no longer prepared to be treated poorly by anybody.
This reinforced the importance of taking estimable action and having boundaries.
Lisa continued to provide insight into her success on how others could build a successful business – no matter what.

This is really interesting; the most interesting thing would be to know how she got started. How did she find her customers? and how did she expand her business beyond her local “warm market”? Was it through recruiting?
Sorry, I could not find your interview, there was no recording posted. Would love to hear more.
